Benefits of green tea for health and beauty of the body was no doubt. This time I want to share information about the benefits of green tea as an antidote to hepatitis C.

Flavonoids contained in green tea can prevent hepatitis C virus (HCV) into liver. Researchers from Germany revealed epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) contained in green tea can prevent the entry of HCV after liver transplantation (liver replacement).

Sandra Ciesek and Eike Steinmann from the Hannover Medical School in Germany investigated the effects of EGCG in preventing HCV molecules attached to the liver cells. "Green tea catechins such as EGCG and its derivatives, namely epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechingallate (ECG) and epicatechin (EC) showed antiviral properties," said Ciesek. Their research explores the potential effects of flavonoids in preventing HCV reinfection after liver transplantation.

The researchers found that EGCG can inhibit HCV cell entry by acting on host cells as a protector. Pretreatment of cells with EGCG did not reduce infection, but can inhibit the spread of HCV.

Ciesek said, "EGCG in green tea inhibit HCV cell entry".   

HCV infection can lead to chronic hepatitis or primary liver cancer. According to WHO data, the disease affects 170 million people around the world. Meanwhile this. standard treatment that being applied is the use of interferon with ribavirin and protease inhibitors. But unfortunately, this way can only remove the infection in a minority of patients. Patients generally have not been able to respond to this therapy.

If you want to reduce the effects of fatty foods that make you obese, you can try to consume green tea. In a study conducted by researchers at Penn State University found that compounds in the green tea can reduce body weight in mice.

The mice used for this experiment is obese mice. The researchers used two mice with high fat, and both were given the same amount of food. Then one of the mice given the intake of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCC), a compound found in green tea. Apparently, this effectively makes the body weight of the mice dropped to 45%, as compared to other mice.

And not only lose weight, the study also showed an increase in fecal lipid up to 30%. "It seems there are two benefits, first, EGCG helps the body to absorb fat, and second, improve the ability to utilize fat," says researcher Joshua Lambert.

Lambert also said that drinking one cup of green tea per day will get the intake of EGCG, but recent research indicates that green tea consumption had no effect on appetite, and can only slow down weight gain.

Have the freshness
The fresh green tea is healthy and good for the body. You can enjoy it hot or cold but make sure is not stored more than one hour. Should avoid drinking green tea when very hot, because it can cause throat cancer. If you store tea in a long time, it could lose vitamins and antioxidants. Coffee Reduces Risk of Skin Cancer - Coffee may reduce the risk of skin cancer. The good news was released by the American Association for Cancer Research and Prevention at their 10th conference. At an international conference which was held in Boston, they showed that coffee is very good, especially for women, because it has a positive effect on the risk of skin cancer.

Women who drank more than three cups of coffee per day had a 20 percent lower risk of basal cell carcinoma (BCC), compared with women who drank less than one cup per month. BCC is one of the most frequently diagnosed skin cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, 75 percent of all cases of skin cancer is a type of BCC. Until now there are about 22.786 cases were recorded. Men who drank the same amount, have a nine percent lower risk of developing skin cancer.

"Our study indicates that coffee consumption may be an important option to help prevent BCC," said Fengju Song, researchers involved in the study.

Data were obtained from studies conducted by nurses at Brigham Women's Hospital, and profesional health practitioners (Harvard School of Public Health). Nurses take data from about 72.921 participants from June 1984 to June 2008. Health professionals examined data from 39.976 participants from June 1986 to June 2008.

Unfortunately, the benefits of drinking coffee is not seen have a positive impact on other types of skin cancer, ie squamous cell carcinoma (1953 cases) or melanoma (741 cases). Previous studies have shown coffee drinkers tend to have a lower risk of breast cancer, uterine, prostate and colon cancer (see Benefits of Coffee).
